Abstract The Wind River Range of Wyoming contains the greatest concentration of glaciers in the American Rocky Mountains with two of the larger glaciers being Dinwoody and Gannett Glaciers. This study documents the importance of glacier meltwater to the overall water supply in the Wind River drainage, the loss of ice from Dinwoody and Gannett Glaciers since the 1930's, and the remaining volume of ice in Dinwoody Glacier.
