Water Issues and Problems, an Environmental-Fishery Perspective

Abstract

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is statutorily (Section 23-1-103, Wyoming Statutes) charged with management of the fish and wildlife resource in the State. Relative to fishery issues generally, the Department has an interest in general public awareness of water related issues and concerns, the affect of acid deposition on fishery resources, economic valuation of fisheries and other forms of water based recreation, affects of stream channel alteration and procedure for control, recognition of instream flows, maintenance of stream channel integrity, and the effect of sediments on stream channels and fishery resources.
