Water Resources Expertise

Preface

The 1982 Wyoming Legislature provided funds to establish a new water research program at the University of Wyoming; the Wyoming Water Research Center began operations on July 1, 1982. The WWRC has as its principal charge the conduct of a comprehensive water research program that specifically addresses the preservation and management of Wyoming's water resources. The Center is designed to effectively coordinate, conduct, and sponsor water research; to provide service to State agencies; and to offer extension and graduate instruction all in an interdisciplinary context. The Wyoming Water Research Center can call on a diverse set of disciplinary expertise necessary to address key issues for the state and the region.

The following publication outlines the research capabilities available on the University of Wyoming campus. It is our hope that this information will be a valuable tool for the public, legislators, state and federal agencies, water researchers, and industry personnel in identifying the appropriate source for water-related information.
